Bourbon Chicken






INGREDIENTS
  • 2 lbs chicken breast (boneless and skinless) washed and cut into thin bite size pieces
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 3/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 tsp ginger powder
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp minced garlic
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp green onion (for garnish)
Bourbon chicken is a dish named after Bourbon Street in New Orleans, Louisiana. The dish is commonly found at Cajun-themed Chinese restaurants (source: wikipedia).



BAHAN
  • 905 gr dada ayam tanpa tulang dan tanpa kuit. Cuci dan potong tipis.
  • 2 sdm minyak zaitun
  • 71 ml kecap asin
  • 59 ml jus jeruk
  • 1 sdm cuka apel
  • 2 sdm saos tomat
  • 3/4 sdt paprika kering
  • 1/4 sdt jahe bubuk
  • 85 gr brown sugar (bisa diganti dengan gula pair tapi kurangi takarannya setengah)
  • 1/2 sdt bawang putih tumbuk halus
  • 1/4 sdt garam
  • 118 ml air
  • 1 sdm tepung maizena
  • 2 sdm daun bawang (sebagai hiasan)
Dinamakan Bourbon Chicken karena diambil dari nama restaurant yang teletak di jalan Bourbon di New Orleans, Louisiana. Masakan ini cukup popular di restaurant Chinese (sumber: wikipedia)
